Natural Relief for Anxiety:
Complementary Strategies for Easing Fear, Panic, and Worry

Twenty-five million Americans suffer from a diagnosable anxiety disorder, and our cultural climate seems to breed more apprehension and fear with each passing year. It's no surprise that international pharmaceutical companies spend millions each year to research and develop psychoactive drugs that counter anxiety symptoms. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any "magic pill" for people who are chronically anxious. Successful treatments that rely on drugs have a high incidence of relapse when the medication is stopped, and the side effects of prescription anti-anxiety medications can be as unpleasant as the disorders they are designed to treat. For persons with mild to moderate anxiety issues, natural methods may be all that is needed to ensure a calmer and more relaxed way of life.

From the best-selling author of The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook and a naturopathic physician, this book helps you to develop a treatment strategy for anxiety that is drug-free.

Healing Fear

In this autobiographical book, Dr. Bourne examines the sources of fear in various forms of separation—separation from self, others, community, nature, and one's spiritual source or Higher Power. Healing fear involves restoring lost connections. The book provides a foundation in conventional approaches to overcoming anxiety such as cognitive behavioral therapy and medication. Yet it also explores some of the deeper issues connected with healing fear such as letting go of control, finding meaning and purpose in life, spirituality, creating a vision of your recovery, and learning to love.
